Taipei Times: Water Contamination occured during May drought
May 28, 2002. Reports of water contamination have surfaced since water rationing began in northern Taiwan,
with large numbers of residents in Taipei City and Taipei County suffering from vomiting and diarrhea.
It turns out that the water supply was easily contaminated for two reasons -- both of which should have been easy to avoid.
Institute of South East Asian Studies: Sewage Contamination of Water Supply in Public Buildings
August, 2000. In August 2000, poor design and negligence resulted in sewage contamination in Bukit Timah Plaza and the adjacent Sherwood Tower.
The polluted water caused 122 people to fall ill. Investigations showed that the management had failed to properly maintain the complex's water supply and
internal sanitary-piping systems.
NEWater is like distilled water, 'too clean'
NEWater is not only clean enough to drink, it is 'too clean' for drinking because it has been stripped of all its
minerals. So, it has to be mixed with reservoir water to regain lost minerals.
